GEOTHERMICA at Iceland Geothermal Congress IGC2024

GEOTHERMICA Initiatives co-chair Paul Ramsak, Senior Advisor at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency-RVO, shared the collective efforts and strategic actions taken by GEOTHERMICA member states, actively contributed to the panel to advance discussions on heating and cooling technologies and showcased that GEOTHERMICA paves the way for propelling the heat transition cooperating between international public authorities. 

The session was dedicated to the central question, 'How can heating and cooling with geothermal reshape the future energy mix?' it brought together a diverse group of inspiring speakers from the research,  industry and the public sector. 

Dr. Egill Júlíusson, CTO at Arctic Green Energy, addresses the intriguing question, “Is Cooling Cool?” and reveals the cool side of geothermal technology.

Ms. Pauline Lucas, Policy Director at Euroheat & Power, presented “The First ‘Very-Low-Temperature' Geothermal District Heating in Iceland?” showcasing Iceland's pioneering steps towards sustainable heating solutions.

Mark Silberg, Special Advisor on Climate and Energy at the Colorado Governor's Office, provided the “Colorado Point of View,” offering a unique perspective on policy and innovation.
