GEOTHERMICA Call preannounced at GeoTHERM

Ms. Susanna Galloni, EC Project Officer, Officially Preannounces GEOTHERMICA Joint Call at GeoTHERM Expo in Offenburg

Today at the PtJ booth during the GeoTHERM Expo, GEOTHERMICA, in partnership with EC Project Officer Ms. Susanna Galloni, officially preannounced the upcoming spring opening of the Call for Geothermal Projects titled “Accelerating the Deployment of Geothermal Energy in Europe.”

Since January 1st, thirteen European countries and the European Commission have joined forces under the GEOTHERMICA initiative to accelerate geothermal energy deployment. This network plans to launch a multi-million euro call for innovative geothermal projects in early April.

This new funding opportunity aligns with Europe’s goal to increase the share of renewable energy for direct heating and cooling, industrial processes, power generation, and energy storage. GEOTHERMICA will seek innovative demonstration and technology development projects that expedite geothermal energy deployment, with outcomes expected by 2021. These joint projects will feature strong industry participation and must comply with both GEOTHERMICA and national/regional funding rules.
